OUR STORY

Strengthening and Sustaining
the Recovery Workforce.

On the Front Lines Community Alliance (OTFLCA) is a nonprofit recovery community organization built on connection, collaboration, and advocacy.
We exist to strengthen the recovery workforce — the professionals who serve, lead, and support recovery every day.

Our “community over competition” approach brings together recovery professionals from across roles and organizations to learn, share, and grow together.

We believe that when professionals are supported, recovery is strengthened for everyone.

"Our commitment to supporting and empowering recovery professionals has never been stronger. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we are building an inclusive and resilient recovery community."
— Hannah Schilling, Founder

Our Evolution

A timeline of growth, collaboration, and impact.

2019 — Grassroots Beginnings

Six Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporters came together with a vision to elevate the peer profession into a respected and sustainable career.
Monthly Community of Practice gatherings became the foundation for collaboration and professional growth.

2022 — Expansion and Strategic Planning

By 2022, On the Front Lines’ virtual network reached its 250-member capacity, sparking expansion.
A focus group and strategic planning refined the mission, and the
Peer Advisory Council was established to guide programming and advocacy

2023 — Formalizing the Organization

On the Front Lines became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Certified Ohio Peer-Run Organization.
A website launched, a Dayton chapter opened, and partnerships formed with
relink.org and the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition.

2024 — Funding and Growth

OTFLCA secured its first major funding — $25,000 from OhioMHAS — hosted the inaugural Community Catalyst Conference, and launched the Cultural Curiosity Series, expanding peer-led education across Ohio.
These milestones solidified OTFLCA’s role as a statewide leader in workforce development and vocational peer support.
